Techno Savvy Generation Afraid Of On-line Purchasing
In SA Student Spend Report 2015According to the SA Student Spend Survey 2015, only 34% of our millennial students claim to have actively ever engaged and interacted with on-line purchasing.
The biggest reason for limited on-line transactions was the perception that one required a credit card. In addition, many students were also highly skeptical and fearful from a security perspective.
Essentially on-line purchasing for many was an unknown and daunting experience and their desire to engage in the purchasing of goods was still very tangible in nature.
For those who had transacted on line it was seen to be a useful and easy thing to do and once adopted it was used frequently. Books at 32%, music & DVD’s at 24% and clothes at 18% remain the three highest items being purchased on-line.
